Jack Massey will make the first defense of his IBO World Cruiserweight Title on April 30th at the University of Bolton Stadium, LIVE on Fightzone.

Massey, from Marple but fighting out of Manchester, will return to the scene of his world title triumph when he became the first man to stop Bilal Laggoune – finishing the Belgian in three pulsating rounds in November last year.

Winning the IBO crown thrusts Massey into the higher echelons of the globe’s 14st 4lbs division, with the 28-year-old now ready to face the world’s best.

Massey’s only career defeat in 20 outings was a 2019 British Title loss to touted Richard Riakporhe.

With 10 KOs from his 19 wins, the former double ABA champion, is ready to go again and is aiming to put the cruiserweight division back on notice.

“I’m itching to get back in the ring and show everyone what I’m about again,” said Jack. “Winning the world title at the Bolton Stadium was a special night, and the atmosphere was through the roof. I always bring a big crowd and April 30th will be absolutely rocking again.

“We’re ready to go again. I have a great team behind me with Rob [Rimmer], Kev [Maree], Dennis [Hobson] and Steve Crump – and I can’t thank them enough. I’m ready to put in another knockout performance and prove I’m one of the best cruisers in the world.”

Fight Academy’s Dennis Hobson, stated: “Jack’s achieved so much in such a short space of time with us. Within just two fights he was a European and World champion, and that’s why we have so many fighters wanting to join the Fight Academy stable. There are some massive fights out there for Jack, he has to keep winning in spectacular fashion, and I’m looking forward to this next step in the journey.”

“When Jack won his world title, it was one of the best nights we’ve had so far on Fightzone,” said the boxing channel’s Chief Operating Officer, Asif Vali. “The atmosphere at the University of Bolton Stadium that night was incredible, and this will be another fantastic show that can be watched completely free on Fightzone.”
