By Ishe O. Smith Sr., in response to WBO champion Dmitry Pirog

I'ts hard for the ball to be in someone's court who is not running the point, the harsh reality is the only ones who seem to care about my career is Team Smith and my family.  That's a tough pill to swallow given I am coming off one of Showtimes best fights of the year (their words, not mine).

It has been tough to get fights, even tougher to not feel important; I meant when I said that I am willing, ready, and able to challenge Pirog, we can do it on Mars if he likes.  Its out of my hands and my control though, so don't put a ball in my court that I can't run no plays with. You challenged me last year on a 3 weeks notice, after you seen my fight with [Fernando] Guerrero. I doubt you really wanted to fight me anyway.

Until you prove me otherwise you're a one hit wonder to me, and if this fight was to ever get made I would show you.  We are both warriors, and matters like this are settled in the squared circle. I wish there was more I could do, but Team Smith has tried and exhausted their efforts. In closing I will continue to trust in God and work hard and put all my faith in him because its his will not mine.
