BoxingScene.com previously announced that former Contender series participant Ishe Smith inked a promotional deal with Prize fight Promotions. Smith was to make his debut on March 29th in Texas against former champion Kassim Ouma.

Smith just informed BoxingScene that the fight is off and so is his deal with Prize Fight Promotions.

Smith sent BoxingScene the following email:

"I was informed that the Kassim Ouma fight was off which is unfortunate because I have always held Ouma in high regards.  I was looking forward to us putting on a great fight for the fans.

Also my promotional status is still the same. I am currently a free agent, I have the utmost respect for Prize Fight Promotions and their team,  Russ, Brian, and Nate. It was something that we couldn't get done.  I tried my best to get it done but it just didn't happen. It's business and no hard feelings.  Maybe down the line our paths will cross.

I am in the gym getting some great work with Badou Jack and when J'Leon Love comes back I will get some with him as well.  No matter what comes our way, Team Smith will be ready."
