Isaiah Steen has agreed to take on another undefeated prospect as part of Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation” series.

BoxingScene.com has learned that Cleveland’s Steen (16-0, 12 KOs) and Elvis Figueroa (11-0, 7 KOs) will square off in an eight-round co-feature October 21 at Bally’s Grand Ballroom in Atlantic City, New Jersey. As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Russian light heavyweight contender Ali Izmailov (9-0, 6 KOs) will face veteran Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic in the 10-round main event Showtime will televise that night.

This three-bout broadcast will begin with another eight-rounder in which Sean Hemphill (14-0, 8 KOs), a super middleweight prospect from New Orleans, will box David Stevens (11-0, 8 KOs), of Reading, Pennsylvania.

Junior middleweights Marquis Taylor (12-1-2, 1 KO), of Galena Park, Texas, and Detroit’s Marlon Harrington (8-0, 7 KOs) will meet in an eight-rounder that’ll now be part of the non-televised portion of the Izmailov-Kalajdzic undercard, rather than in a televised bout. Showtime will, however, air highlights of the Taylor-Harrington fight.

Taylor fought Philadelphia’s Paul Kroll (9-0-1, 6 KOs) to an eight-round split draw in his most recent bout, which was part of a “ShoBox” broadcast February 18 from Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida.

The 26-year-old Steen hasn’t fought since his points victory over Kalvin Henderson 14 months ago in a “ShoBox” main event. Steen defeated the previously unbeaten Henderson (15-2-1, 11 KOs), of Fayetteville, Arkansas, by scores of 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94 in July 2021 at Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Despite his loss to Steen, Henderson challenged Cuba’s David Morrell Jr. for Morrell’s WBA secondary super middleweight title June 4. Morrell (7-0, 6 KOs) stopped Henderson in the fourth round of a co-feature Showtime aired from The Armory in Minneapolis.

As for Figueroa, the New Haven, Connecticut native will take a significant step up in opposition when he encounters Steen.

Only four of the 25-year-old Figueroa’s 11 professional opponents have had winning records. In his most recent action, Figueroa knocked out Colombian journeyman Fidel Monterrosa Munoz (41-30-1, 33 KOs) in the second round August 20 in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico.
