Isaac Dogboe (19-0, 13 KOs) made a statement on Saturday night in Philadelphia, when he recovered from a first round knockdown to score three of his own, and stopped undefeated Jessie Magdaleno in the eleventh round to become the newly crowned WBO super bantamweight champion.

Coming in, Dogboe was unknown to most American boxing fans, but the contest with Magdaleno was televised as the headliner of an ESPN card.

So what's next for Dogboe?

His adviser, Mike Altamura, told BoxingScene.com on Sunday morning - "We'll sit down with Top Rank, I just actually left Bob Arum here at the airport. We had a great talk and then we'll talk about the prospect of heading back to Ghana and promoting some shows together - Top Rank in conjunction with Rising Star.

"But we're possibly looking at returning to the United States, that's what's been looked at in the present but you never know, if the funding's right maybe I can convince Bob and the team to come over to Ghana because they certainly fell in love with the African flavor this week."

By winning the title at age 23 he became the young boxing champion ever from the country of Ghana, which has a proud boxing history and has produced the likes of the great Azumah Nelson and Ike Quartey, among others.

As for any talk of unification bout at 122, say perhaps against WBA titlist, Danny Roman, Altamura states - "absolutely, there's already been some scuttlebutt about that. Isaac's open to any of these challenges. He's a true warriors. When we say he's the 'Lion of Africa' it's said with meaning and that means hes' going to be a fighting champion.

"He's ready to take on all-comers."

Another option floating in the division is WBC champion Rey Vargas, who returns to the ring next month.
