Max Alperovich of Fight Promotions has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that the contracts are in and a fight between the highly touted Ievgen Khytrov and Jorge Melendez is on for March 6th at the MGM Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas. This match-up will be televised on Friday Night Fights on ESPN2.

Khytrov, who's moniker is 'the Ukranian Lion' has a record of 8-0 (8 KO's). In his last outing he blew out the overmatched Maurice Louishome in three rounds in January. He is co-promoted by Fight Promotions and DiBella Entertainment and he recently inked with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

The Puerto Rican Melendez has a record of 28-4-1 (26 KO's). He last fought in June and dropped a ten round verdict to Javier Maciel at the Madison Square Garden on the Miguel Cotto-Sergio Martinez undercard.

The card takes place on the eve of Al Haymon's debut edition of 'Premier Boxing Champions' on NBC, which takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
