By IBO President Ed Levine

The quote by Raja Sapta Oktohari that Daud Yordan is still the IBO world lightweight champion is inaccurate.

As previously noted by writer Putra Tegar on November 14th on BoxingScene, Daud Yordan had no intention to defend his IBO world title.

Prior statements from Yordan's camp that his scheduled IBO defense in south africa "was canceled due to the ongoing outbreak of the ebola virus in the western part of the country" is complete nonsense. there are no such issues in south africa

Therefore, on November 17, 2014 the IBO championship's committee officially vacated his title and notified all interested parties.

The further statement that "we talked to the IBO" about saturday's fight is a total fabrication. We have had no communication from Yordan's representatives.

The vacant IBO world lightweight title is presently in final negotiations for sanctioning with a leading available highly ranked contender.

We wish Daud Yordan good luck in his future.
