Super featherweight contender Hylon Williams Jr. (15-1, 3KOs) spoke to BoxingScene.com about Friday's eight round decision loss to Rance Barthelemy (15-0, 11KOs). It was the first loss in Williams' pro career. ESPN's Friday Night Fights televised the contest.

BoxingScene.com: Hylon, what are your thoughts of the fight? How do yo feel about many of the fans and media who had it much closer than the official judges had it?

Williams: It was a very entertaining fight. I really feel I had an off night. I saw some openings but couldn't  utilize them, but I give Barthelemy credit for fighting a good fight and I know we will meet down the line because I definitely need to fight him again. I thought it was close down the stretch I couldn't get my hands off and lost it at the end if it was 10 rds or more I really feel it would have benefited me. But I congratulate Rances and I feel we'll both be champions.

BoxingScene.com: You fought a lot on the inside. Many feel you were more suited to fight on the outside and use your speed. Your thoughts?

Williams: Yes I definitely should have fought on the outside a bit more but he was also long and rangy so I was hiding under him and working but like I said it was an off night and the best fighters of all-times lose and I'm a fighter I love boxing and I showed that fighting another undefeated fighter I hope more boxers do that. This is a great learning experience and I will only get better and God is the master planner and its not how many times you fall its how many times you get up.

BoxingScene.com: Your right. I hope more fighters do take your words into consideration because it will really help the sport. What is next for you?

Williams: I will be fighting on March 23 I believe in my hometown of Texas. Get back in the ring get on a winning track. There's no doubt I will come back stronger than ever and I will become a world champion. I have become a better fighter and my mind will be stronger and like my manager told me the cream will rise to the top and I know God has a plan for me and I will work very hard to never lose again. That I promise you!

BoxingScene.com: Thank you for a great fight on Friday and any closing thoughts?

Williams: Thank you. I want to thank all of my fans and family for all the support the have been showing me back home and on twitter. Follow me @hylonwilliams I will keep you updated on how things are going on my career. I promise you all I will bounce back harder than ever. Love you all and God bless.
