JARRET HURD has identified his hitlist saying he wants to unify at 154lbs before moving up to middleweight.

The current IBF, IBO and WBA champion wants to take on Jermell Charlo but said he needs to fight an orthodox fighter before he meets the WBC ruler.

“Everyone knows I will fight anyone,” he said, “I’ve been in two fights with southpaws and had two camps sparring southpaws so now I want one fight with a right-handed fighter and then we’re going for Charlo.”

Jermell meets Austin Trout tonight, and Hurd thinks the result should be a straightforward win for the champion.

“I feel Trout is pretty much done,” he said,. “And he’s not going to be able to put up with someone like Charlo.”

Which right-hander does Charlo want? He hopes it will be Sheffield’s Kell Brook.

“That’s what we’re looking for,” Hurd added. “Not only is he a right handed fighter but we’re trying to get some fans from the UK and I’m trying not only to be a local star in the US but I’m trying to go global. Kell Brook said he is fighting in July and after that we will talk to Eddie Hearn and talk about him or Amir Khan. I will fight in the UK. It’s not hard to make the weight right now, as I get older it will become harder but right now it’s okay. Kell Brook is a great fighter. At 147 he was a greater fighter but at 154 I rate him a seven or a seven-and-a-half.”

And should he unify and then move up, what next?

“The real money is at 160 and if the other Charlo [Jermall] is upset I beat his brother I will beat him as well.”
