According to WBA lightweight champion Miguel "Aguacerito" Acosta, he will definitely defend his belt against Mexican boxer Ricardo Dominguez on September 25 in Chetumal, Mexico, on the same evening that Humberto Soto will risk his WBC belt at 135 pounds.

The Venezuelan co-feature will serve as a background to provide people an opportunity to compare the two best lightweights today in back to back bouts. The company sponsoring the two gladiators, Zanfer, will not rule out a possible unification between the fighters later this year or in early 2011.

The information regarding Dominguez was confirmed by sources close to the WBA, who declined to be identified because they are still waiting for the contracts and other details regarding the fight. Dominguez has a record of 31 wins with three defeats and two draws.
