Unbeaten junior featherweight Humberto Rubalcava will face Jonathan Torres tonight at the Hawaiian Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, California, a suburb of Los Angeles.

The six-round bout will headline the inaugural ‘Fight Night at the Gardens Casino.’

Rubalcava (9-0, 6 knockouts), who was born and raised in nearby Orange, won a six-round unanimous decision over Roberto Pucheta of Mexico.

The 23-year-old Rubalcava hopes to fight more often his year after only fighting twice in 2017 and 2018.

Torres (8-6-1, 2 KOs) has not fought since losing a 10-round unanimous decision to Michael Ruiz in September of 2017.

Torres, who resides in Tlajomulco de Zuniga, Jalisco, Mexico, has won his previous six bouts.

In another six-round junior featherweight bout, Anthony Casillas will square off against Sergio Lopez of Las Vegas.

Casillas (7-0, 4 KOs) of nearby South Gate, defeated veteran Corbin Page in his last bout on Sept. 29. Tonight will mark his first six-round bout.

Torres (3-5-3) has lost once in his last four bouts.

Hard-hitting middleweight Jonathan Esquivel (8-0, 7 KOs) will face Mexico’s Ricardo Escajeda (4-15-1, 2 KOs) in a four-round bout.

Bantamweight Anthony Ramirez (1-0, 1 KO) will square off against Jose Negrete, who will be making his pro debut.

Longtime Southern California promoter Roy Englebrecht is promoting the card.
