Promoters Hector Garcia and Sampson Lewkowicz have reached an agreement for client Hugo "Cuatito" Ruiz, to go for the WBA world championship on January 15 on Mexican soil. HG Boxing and Sampson LLC, who are both very active at the annual convention of the World Boxing Association, which is taking place in Managua, Nicaragua, will have more good news this week.

For now, it is arranged that "Cuatito" will exchange blows with the Nicaraguan Alvaro Perez (19-2-1, 12 KOs) for that crown, represented by promoter Silvio Conrado of PRODESA.

Ruiz (26-1, 25 KOs), who was fighting in the flyweight division for four years, decided to jump to 118 pounds because his height and build lighter made it tough to come down in weight for his recent fights.

So, knowing the scope of the explosive fighter, more than likely Sinaloa Los Mochis will have new world champion at the start of 2011.
