Hugo 'Cuatito' Ruiz is very hungry to win the WBA belt on January 19 when he faces unbeaten Filipino Jack "The Captain" Tepora at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada; as part of the Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard headlined by the welterweight title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner.

Ruiz, 30 years old, will seek to enter a select club of Mexican three division world champions when matched against the Filipino boxer, who will hold his first fight in the United States.

"I hope it's a great fight because I'm facing a great champion and a Filipino fighter who comes in undefeated, but I'm ready for whatever," said the big puncher who was world champion at bantamweight and super bantamweight.

"I do not think he can counteract my power, I will knock him out, I will do my best to win that title. I've seen videos of him and we have been working very hard;. I am really concentrating on how to defeat him because I am still young, but I have the experience to win," said the fighter who comes to this fight after a win by knockout in two rounds against Jesus 'Lefty' Galicia.

The fight for the championship at 126 pounds has been sanctioned by the World Boxing Association - which gives Ruiz a great opportunity to write his name in Mexican boxing history.

Ruíz is represented in the contest by the promotional pairing of Promociones del Pueblo and Sampson Boxing, who managed to get the fight a spot on the Pacquiao-Broner card.
