Frank Warren hosted a press conference in London earlier today ahead of Hughie Fury’s vacant WBO International heavyweight title fight against Fred Kassi at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday night.

Many fans and pundits believe that Kassi deserved the nod over Dominic Breazeale and Chris Arreola (L10 and D10 in his last two), so he represents a good test for the 21-year-old heavyweight contender.

“This is a big step up for Hughie,” Warren concurred when opening the presser. “We're delighted that Hughie's on board with us. If he wins, he should get a place in the top 10. He's gaining experience the right way, he's got the world at his feet. He's got to overcome Fred first, but we have faith in him.”

Kassi (18-4-1, 10 KOs) has pledged to send Fury (19-0, 10 early) home with a ‘1’ in his loss column and was philosophical when asked about the Breazeal fight.

“I always come to fight, it's going to be a good night. I can't go back, it is what it is (referring to Breazeale).”

“Everyone in my corner is guiding me in the right direction, I'm earning my shot at titles the right way,” stated Fury. “I’ve learnt a lot form sharing a training camp with my cousin Tyson. I've fought some good names so far, it's a stepping stone on my way to the world stage. When I fight for a world title, I'll be ready.”

Liam and Ryan Walsh are also on the bill. Croma's fighting brothers meet Troy James and James Tennyson respectively for the British Super featherweight and featherweight titles.

Liam has had a slow-burning career thus far, but Warren believes he is on the path to a world title belt. “If Liam comes through this fight he'll get a final eliminator and hopefully be challenging for a world title in the next year,” he revealed.

“Liam Walsh has been very unlucky with hand injuries in his career, I hope this fight gets him some momentum going,” added Warren.

“I'm more excited than nervous for Ryan, it's great to be fighting in title fights on the same show,” stated Walsh. “I'm a very young 29 so there's no mega rush, I've got to beat Troy first before getting a final eliminator shot. Troy has my full attention and my full respect, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.”

“This could be the fight of the night,” said Warren, turning his attention to Walsh-Tennyson. “The winner can hopefully fight for a European then world title in next 18 months.”

“To be fighting in a title fight on the same show as Liam is special,” said Walsh, echoing his brother’s sentiments. “We’ve both promised each other that we’re going to win and that’s exactly what we’ll do. I worked hard to get this British title and there’s no way I’m giving it up.”

“Every box has been ticked,” said Tennyson. “I just need to go in there and execute my game plan on Saturday night. It’s important to win on Saturday night. If I win there’s no need to come over to England anymore, there’s some big arenas over in Belfast that I’d love to pack out.”

Vijender Singh also features on the bill, he lost to Anthony Ogogo in at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and Warren offered the injury-plagued Ogogo a crack at the fighter they call the “Indian Sensation”.

“Anthony Ogogo can have a rematch with Singh any time he wants,” he declared before confirming that the show will be shown live in the U.S. as part of the Shobox series.

“What a cracking night of boxing we've got lined up on Saturday, four title fights and an undercard bursting with domestic talent,” he said, bringing the presser to an end.
