Matchroom and Queensberry Promotions are nearing agreements for their “5 v 5” on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev-Dmitrii Bivol on June 1.

Beterbiev and Bivol are scheduled to contest the undisputed light-heavyweight title in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom and Frank Warren’s Queensberry, who have been overseeing the increasing number of promotions staged there, will build on the interest in their rivalry-come-alliance by pitting five of their fighters against each other.

They have chosen to make two fights at heavyweight, one at light heavyweight, one at middleweight, and another at featherweight.

Hearn will use his “wildcard” to match Deontay Wilder with Zhilei Zhang, of Queensberry, in the first heavyweight contest. The second is expected to be between Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois, also of Queensberry, and, depending on what follows the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk in the same location on May 18, it could be for the IBF title should it by then be vacant. Dubois' trainer Don Charles has already been vocal about his expectation that the heavyweight will next fight in June.

The promoters were already attempting to match Nick Ball with Raymond Ford, the WBA featherweight champion promoted by Matchroom, when Ball inconveniently drew with the WBC champion Rey Vargas on the undercard of Anthony Joshua-Francis Ngannou, and have regardless decided to proceed with their plans.

Matchroom’s Craig Richards, who was previously outpointed by Bivol, will likely be matched with Willy Hutchinson, who on Friday stopped Martin Houben and has become Richards’ likeliest opponent given the plans that exist for Anthony Yarde to fight Joshua Buatsi on a separate promotion in London. A middleweight contest between Hamzah Sheeraz and Austin “Ammo” Williams, another Matchroom fighter, is also on course to be concluded.
