Maurice "Mighty Mo" Hooker (21-0-2) is training for the biggest fight of his career.  On November 19th he faces former WBA interim title holder Darleys Perez (33-2-1) at the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas. The fight will be part of the televised pay-per-view undercard supporting the Sergey Kovalev-Andre Ward main event.

The 27-year-old Texas native was obviously thrilled when he received the news.

"I was excited when I heard. That is one of the biggest fights of the year and I am on the card. I couldn't believe it. It is my first time on HBO pay-per-view so it is a big state," revealed Hooker.

Hooker respects his more experienced opponent but believes that he is better than him in all facets of the sport. He believes his power will play a key role and he will put it on display early in the fight.

"I think he is a good fighter. He comes to win. He fights hard but I am going to outbox him and hopefully knock him out. I just think he hasn't fought anybody like me. I'm taller and I'm going to outbox him. I am longer and a big 140. I hit harder than him so I am going to test his chin early," Hooker stated.

So far Hooker is 2-0 in 2016 and has won both of his fights via first round knockout. He did however go 10 full rounds in October, 2015 and isn't concerned that his stamina may be tested.

"I am going to be ready to go 10, 12, 15 rounds. Whatever it takes. I am going to be in shape and adjust to whatever he does but I'm going to get him out of there early and get out with the victory," Hooker told BoxingScene.com.
