Holly Holm isn’t interested in returning to boxing to challenge Katie Taylor.

In fact, the UFC star isn’t inspired to box against anyone anymore. The former boxing world champion told the media before her UFC 219 main event against Cris Cyborg on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Holm, who became a UFC sensation by knocking out Ronda Rousey two years ago, was asked about boxing again, specifically in a fight against Taylor.

Ireland’s Taylor, 31, became the WBA women’s lightweight champion in just her seventh professional fight. The 2012 Olympic gold medalist also has become a popular fighter in the United Kingdom, where a fight against Holm would draw well.

The 36-year-old Holm respects boxing and Taylor, yet just doesn’t want to return to the sport in which she won world titles in three weight classes during an 11-year pro career from 2002-13.

“I don’t feel the passion to box anymore,” Holm said, according to London’s Daily Mirror. “I never want to offend anyone from the boxing world. I, 100 percent, am so grateful for my entire career in boxing. The reason why I came to MMA is because this is where my passion is now. So I wouldn’t go back just to say I could or would, because that’s not really what I’m passionate about right now. Right now, I’m telling you, I just don’t have a passion for boxing. It’s just not where my heart’s at.”

Holm’s opponent Saturday night has expressed interest in taking the path UFC superstar Conor McGregor took toward a high-profile boxing showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Cyborg has secured a boxing license in California and said she wants to try boxing last month (https://www.boxingscene.com/cyborg-still-plans-pursue-boxing-run-despite-new-ufc-deal--122651).

Holm, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, will challenge Brazil’s Cyborg for her UFC featherweight title in the UFC 219 main event at T-Mobile Arena. Holm has lost three of her four MMA matches since she upset Rousey.
