Yoan Pablo Hernandez has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming cruiserweight title defense versus Eric Fields after suffering a fractured left hand during a recent sparring session.

The rest of the show remains intact for February 2 at Max Schmelling Halle in Berlin, Germany. The main event pits Eduard Gutknecht (24-1, 9KO) against Juergen Braehmer (38-2, 30KO) in a domestic light heavyweight title fight.

"We will stand by Pablo and will make sure that he receives the best medical attention out there," informed Frederick Ness, managing director of Sauerland Event. We are all hoping that he gets back as soon as possible."

The bout would have marked Hernandez' 5th appearance at the famed Max Schmelling Halle, though his first as a champion.

Hernandez (27-1, 13KO) won the cruiserweight belt with a technical decision over Steve Cunningham in Oct. '11, but scored a far more emphatic victory in their rematch four months later. That same fight produced an injury similar to the one he suffered during a recent sparring session.

The co-feature slot on the card will be filled by unbeaten German prospect Robert Woge (10-0, 9KO), who is currently slated for an eight-round light heavyweight bout against an opponent to be named later.

It has yet to be determined whether Eric Fields (21-1, 15KO) will remain on the card.

Hernandez last fought in September, scoring a disputed points win over Canada's Troy Ross in Bayern, Germany.
