Heavyweight contender Robert Helenius will return to the scene of the biggest win of his career.

On October 15th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Helenius will collide in the ring with former WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Bomber. The fight will headline a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View card.

Helenius (30-3, 19 KOs) is riding high at the moment, after picking up back to back stoppage wins over previously unbeaten Adam Kownacki.

Their first bout took place at Barclays in March of 2020, with Helenius dropping and stopping Kownacki in the fourth round.  The rematch took place in October of last year in Las Vegas, with Helenius stopping Kownacki in six rounds.

In the main event of that October card, Wilder was stopped in the eleventh round of his trilogy fight with current WBC champion Tyson Fury.

Wilder has now been stopped in back to back fights, with both defeats coming at the hands of Fury. The last time Wilder walked out with his hands raised, was in November of 2019 when he knocked out Luis Ortiz in seven rounds. At the time of the stoppage, Ortiz was ahead on all three of the official scorecards.

Helenius believes Wilder is there for the taking and predicts another big upset will take place in the Brooklyn venue.

“It’s great to be back at Barclays Center in an even bigger fight than my last one. I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and I’m going to be ready,’’ said Helenius.

“I’m going to produce an even bigger upset than I did with Kownacki. I’m going for the belt, so this is a fight to prepare me to achieve that goal. I can only become the best heavyweight in the world by beating the best and that’s what I intend to do on October 15.’’
