The Argentine welterweight champion Hector Saldivia (36-2, 29KOs) retained his crown with a technical knockout victory in the fifth round over Jorge Miranda (40-10) in the headliner at the Estadio Socios Fundadores in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, Argentina. Saldivia battered Miranda for five rounds before the challenger's corner stepped in to stop the fight.

After the fight was over, Saldivia's promoter Mario Arano revealed that on March 11, his boxer will face Sebastian Lujan (35-6, 22KOs) in Comodoro, Argentina for the crown. The announcement was made alongside Lujan's manager, Carlos Alanis, who signed the agreement for the mega event on Friday afternoon.
