Hector Luis Garcia (12-0) will be a very interested observer of Saturday night's showdown pitting Eduardo Ramirez (24-2-3) against Isaac Avelar (17-2) that takes place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.  At stake will be vacant WBA interim featherweight title.

The fight will serve as the chief supporting bout underneath the Erislandy Lara-Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna main event. Both will be broadcast live on Premier Boxing Champions on FOX before the Andy Ruiz-Chris Arreola pay-per-view event that begins at 9pm E.T./6pm P.T.

Garcia represented his native Dominican Republic at the 2016 Olympic games and is looking to fight for a world title in the near future.  The winner of Ramirez-Avelar could be a potential opponent for Garcia who is ranked #3 by the WBA.

"In regards to these boxers I believe it will be a really good fight. It is the type of fight where the fighter who makes a mistake will pay for it.  They are both lefties with really good counterpunching," Garcia explained.

Avelar is coming off of a dominant unanimous decision win over the then unbeaten Sankaria Lukas in December.  Ramirez enters the fight on a two fight win streak with knockouts of Miguel Flores and Leduan Barthelemy.

The 29-year-old Salazar doesn't have a favorite in the fight but said that he is very interested in facing whichever fighter leaves the ring with his hand raised.

"In order for Avelar to win I believe that he has to do a good job with his jab to keep Ramirez off of him and he has to be alert for counter punching opportunities because Ramirez will be coming forward most of the time. May the best man win. I would love to fight the winner," Salazar told BoxingScene.com.

Garcia last fought in December when his fight against Marco Acevedo was ruled a no contest.  He is expected to return to the ring this summer.
