Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight Anthony Joshua, did not hold back when discussing Deontay Wilder's upset loss to Joseph Parker.

On Saturday night, Wilder and Joshua co-headlined a big event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The card was created as a springboard to a March 2024 showdown between the two former world champions.

However, that scenario was derailed when Parker outboxed and outlanded Wilder over twelve rounds to win a dominant twelve round unanimous decision.

The bout was a one-sided affair where the 38-year-old Wilder barely let his hands go and spent much of the contest searching for a single knockout blow. He was badly hurt in the eight but managed to weather the storm.

Joshua, for his part, battered and stopped Otto Wallin in five rounds. The British star also holds a twelve round decision win over Parker.

Based on their perspective careers, Hearn firmly believes Joshua is several levels above Wilder. The British promoter has often voiced that position over the years.

"Joseph did everything right tonight. I said in the build-up I don't rate him [Wilder]. Wilder had no idea, no clue. He lost 120-108, lost every round, and he's there in front of the referee at the end putting his hand up saying 'I've won the fight.' He's not right," Hearn told TNT Sports.

"That's the reality. It was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I've seen. He had no power on the backend of the fight. It's ruined our plans [for the Joshua fight in March].

"The future is not Deontay Wilder. If anyone's going to ruin the plans, I'm delighted for Joseph Parker and [his trainer] Andy Lee....top, top men. Was it an upset? I don't know. I've said before, this guy has never beaten an elite heavyweight. [Anthony Joshua] is leagues above Deontay Wilder."
