Eddie Hearn, promoter for WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney, is looking to make some very big fights for his boxer in 2020.

A few weeks ago, Haney - who had the interim-title - was elevated to the full championship status - after the World Boxing Council approved Vasiliy Lomachenko's request to become the "Franchise" champion - which is not thing more than some honorable recognition by the sanctioning body.

Haney will return to the ring on Saturday night, when he faces Alfredo Santiago on the undercard to the KSI-Logan Paul rematch at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Haney is looking to put on a real show for the viewing audience.

"The world is watching. They want to see if I'm a real world champion or not," Haney told Sky Sports after the public work out at Venice Beach, Los Angeles.

"I've got to go in there and put on a dominant performance, show the world that I earned the belt and that I am a top dog and if you want to fight me it won't be easy. Of course I would have won it in the ring but they can't take it away from me, I'm world champion."

Some of the opponents that Hearn would love to secure are names like Gervonta Davis, who returns on December 28 against Yuriorkis Gamboa. And another names is Ryan Garcia, who saw action last weekend with a blowout of Romero Duno.

"Already people are calling him out," said Hearn. "'Tank' [Gervonta] Davis this week online, that's a huge fight.

"Ryan Garcia is a mega-fight for 2020, Luke Campbell, he's got a mandatory against Javier Fortuna. Lomachenko is a fight he really wants, Teofimo Lopez, so many big fights out there for him and he's 20!"
