Following the launch of its “Road To…” series over the weekend, HBO continues its pre-fight buildup to the October 17 Pay-Per-View headliner between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The most recent HBO-televised performances of both middleweights will be rebroadcast on the network this Friday, October 9 (12:00 a.m. ET/PT). Featured on the telecast:
  • Golovkin’s 6th round knockout of Willie Monroe, Jr in May, which played to a sold-out crowd at The Forum in Inglewood, California;
  • Lemieux’s 10th round stoppage of Gabriel Rosado last December, which took place last December at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York

The show will be replayed the following morning, Saturday, Oct. 10 (9:00 a.m. ET/PT). It will also re-air on HBO2, and will be available to HBO On Demand® and HBO GO® subscribers beginning Oct. 5.

Both fighters will be making their debut as Pay-Per-View headliners. Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) has previously appeared on HBO eight times, developing as one of the network’s biggest draws and fastest rising stars. Lemieux’s aforementioned win over Rosado marked his lone fight on HBO as well as his stateside debut.

The October 17 PPV marks the first of two significant middleweight title fights offered by HBO. Golovkin and Lemieux put a slew of belts on the line atop their card. Lemieux (34-2, 31KOs) won his belt with a 12-round win over Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam in June. Golovkin picked up his first belt in 2010, having since racked up 14 title defenses. All have come inside the distance, with his five-year title reign overlapping a 20-fight knockout streak.
