Manny Pacquiao's last fight on pay per view disappointed at the box office, coming in at around 475,000 buys, but HBO hopes for a much better result Saturday in the rematch with Tim Bradley. The main reason? This event is on American soil.

"The Pacquiao-Rios pay-per-view buys were an anomaly attributed solely to the fight taking place in China," HBO PPV boss Mark Taffet told BoxingScene.com earlier this year. "There were many challenges that it presented, we knew it going in, our research indicated that fights that emanate from overseas do 30 to 40 percent of their equivalent of their U.S. buys. Not 30 to 40 percent off, 30 to percent of their equivalent of U.S. buys. And we launched a media center in Las Vegas with a number of boxing legends to be able to reach the fans and connect with them.

"But, at the end of the day, when a viewer hears that a fight is taking place overseas, it is a very difficult obstacle to overcome with a Saturday night live 9 p.m. message," Taffet continued. "Connecting a Saturday night live 9 p.m. message with a fight emanating from overseas is a great challenge. It's the factor that impacted the Pacquiao-Rios pay-per-view buys more than any."
