In a clash of fringe lightweight contenders, Henry ‘Hank’ Lundy defeated Ezequiel Fernandez by unanimous decision late Saturday night at the PAL Center in Hockessin, New Jersey.

Scores were 79-73, 79-73, and 78-74 for Lundy, who improves to 31-8-1, 14 knockouts.

Fernandez was game, but Lundy was the more-efficient and effective fighter throughout most of the fight, landing the more telling punches.

The 36-year-old Lundy, who resides in Philadelphia, has now won his last two bouts after dropping his previous two. His most notable bout in recent years occurred in February 2016, when he was stopped by then-WBO junior welterweight titleholder Terence Crawford.

Fernandez, who resides in San Juan, Argentina, drops to 28-4-1 1 NC, 3 KOs. The 29-year-old is winless in his last four bouts, with one of those being a no-contest.

Welterweight Shinard Bunch of Trenton, New Jersey stopped Cincinnati’s Ronnie Jordan (5-10-1) at 1:25 of the opening round.

Bunch (8-1 1 NC, 7 KOs) has now won his last five bouts. The 20-year-old, who is represented by Russell Peltz, is scheduled to fight again on a ‘Philly Special’ card in Philadelphia that is promoted by Michelle Rosado.

In heavyweight action, Maurice Horne improved to 6-0, 4 KOs, defeating Antwun Tubbs (5-14, 2 KOs) of Cincinnati by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 40-36 in favor of Horne, who resides in Middletown, Delaware.

Light heavyweight David Murray of Wilmington, Delaware defeated Austin Marcum by unanimous decision over six rounds. All three judges scored the bout 59-54 in favor of Murray, who improves to 10-2, 6 KOs. Marcum (11-12-1, 5 KOs), who resides in Breeden, West Virginia, has now lost six of his last seven bouts.

In cruiserweight action, gatekeeper Dhafir Smith defeated Greg Hackett (3-20-1) of Philadelphia by unanimous decision. Scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37 for Smith, who improves to 28-25-7, 4 KOs, who resides in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The 37-year-old Smith returned to the ring after a five-and-a-half-year absence.
