Hairon 'El Maja' Socarras (14-0-2, 10KOs) is scheduled to return to the ring after a short period of inactivity.

The 24-year-old Cuban, who is training with his team in Miami, is enthusiastic and ready to return at the "Friday Night Boxing" event presented by Hard Hitting Promotions at the Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia on Friday, February 3.

"In 2017 I will be very busy; this fight is the beginning of a very active season. I expect to perform between around 4 to 5 fights and submit my name back again in the featherweight rankings. I have been training lightly to maintain the condition and this month we are closing intensely to deliver a great fight next month in Philadelphia," said Socarras.

"Hairon is an extraordinary fighter, we are really excited. Everyone knows Socarras' power and we hope to see it in this fight. We believe that Hairon has the talent to get far and mix in with the best featherweights in the world. He was classified in the WBC but due to inactivity he was displaced. Now we are going to support him and we are confident that he will soon be at the best level," said Hard Hitting Promotions representatives.

On January 5 at Jorge Rubio's gym in Miami, the entire Socarras team came together to continue the workouts.

"We are close to the best physical and technical level. There are 4 weeks left until the fight and day by day Hairon is approaching his best condition for this fight that marks his return to the ring," said Rubio,
