Another member of an immensely talented Ukrainian Olympic Squad (also including WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, and blue-chip prospects Olexander Usyk, Taras Shelestyuk and Ievgen Khytrov) – Alexander Gvozdyk (5-0, 4 KOs) has no plans of slowing down.

The 27-year old London Olympics light heavyweight bronze medalist and 2011 world champion returns to the ring on April 11 in Laredo, Texas, against experienced former fringe contender Rowland Bryant (18-5, 12 KOs) in a scheduled eight-rounder.

Gvozdyk, who debuted as a pro in 2014, has already got wins over a trio of relatively known second-tier opponents – Michael Gbenga, Otis Griffin and Cory Cummings, only a former one going the distance. Bryant, 35, is best known for a kayo victory over Librado Andrade in 2012, but he is just 2-4 in his latest fights.

Gvozdyk vs. Bryant will be a part of the card promoted by Top Rank, which will be headlined by another 2012 Olympian Oscar Valdez who is fighting Jose Ramirez, with Jessie Magdaleno vs. John Mark Apolinario as the co-feature.

The Ukrainian is managed by Egis Klimas, whose other fighter and compatriot Egis Kavaliauskus (9-0, 8 KOs) is taking on Russian import Arman Ovsepyan (14-4, 11 KOs) in another undercard fight.
