Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing was very upset with the scoring of Saturday's HBO televised co-feature between his fighter Yunieski Gonzalez and former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal.

The action was close in several of the high-drama rounds, but the majority of those at ringside had scored the fight for Gonzalez, with HBO unofficially scoring the fight in favor of the Cuban boxer as well.

The opposite happened. All three of the official judges had Pascal as the winner with a score of 96-94 on all three cards.

DeGuardia vented over the scoring.

"This is probably the first time where I'm really disgusted in the sport, from the perspective of the judging. I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed that I have to have a fighter come to me and apologizing for not knocking somebody out because he couldn't get a fair decision. But I am elated in his performance," DeGuardia.

The New York-based promoter disclosed that both boxers underwent random drug testing under VADA [Voluntary Anti Doping Agency].
