WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (57-8, 48KOs) will be ringside tonight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California - when Nonito Donaire and Nicholas Walters will battle for WBA's version of the 126-pound crown.

Gonzalez, who reclaimed his WBC title at the very same venue last August when he stopped Abner Mares in the first round of action, is hoping the World Boxing Council will allow him to push back any mandatory obligation in order to face the Donaire-Walters winner next.

"Right now everybody wants to face me, but I want the fights that the fans want to see. I'm interested in generating a big audience and big profits, so if the WBC allows it I'd like to unify with the winner of Nonito and Walters. I am ready to fight with anyone, as I've always said and I've always done," Gonzalez said.
