Flyweight contender Jonathan Gonzalez (13-1) has been in Las Vegas, NV the past few weeks helping Joseph Agbeko prepare for his clash against Guillermo Rigondeaux. The 22-year-old Gonzalez said that training at the Mayweather Boxing Club has been a great experience and feels that Agbeko has a good chance at dethroning the WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion.

"This is a great environment.  I am learning a lot here especially working with a great champion like Agbeko. I think Agbeko is going to surprise some people against Rigondeaux," Gonzalez stated.

The Puerto Rican was stopped in his last fight which took place in his homeland against former two-division champion Giovani Segura. Gonzalez was released from his promotional contract shortly after that fight. He said that he is still a free agent but hopes to sign with a promoter soon.

"I am still a free agent. I don't really know why Top Rank let me go but right now I am just looking for the right promoter," Gonzalez explained.

Gonzalez doesn't have a timetable for his return but hopes that it will be soon and said that he plans on returning with a bang.

"I am going to be back soon and I am going to be back in a big way with a big promoter, " Gonzalez told BoxingScene.com
