Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBC/WBA/IBF/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs), wants Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33KOs) to back up his boasts.

Golovkin was the mandatory challenger to Canelo, who previously held the WBC middleweight crown. After Canelo knocked out Amir Khan back in May, he told a live audience that was ready to face Golovkin and boasted on how Mexicans don't f*** around.

It wasn't long after that Canelo announced that he was vacating the belt and by default Golovkin was named champion by the sanctioning body.

At the moment, Canelo has dropped back to 154-pounds to face WBO champion Liam Smith on September 17th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Golovkin is back one week prior when he defends his titles against Kell Brook at the O2 Arena in London.

Canelo and Golovkin have a verbal agreement to face each other in September of 2017, but Sanchez believes the fight won't happen then either.

“He’s not showing us the balls that he spoke of after the Khan fight. He talks so much trash that he needs to back it up. It's not only me, but fight fans and Mexican fight fans in general - that when you talk you've got to back your sh*t up," Sanchez told Fight Hub.

"They would forgive him if he fought whoever and he loses, but he puts up a valiant fight because that’s what our heroes are all about - they are supposed to fail sometimes. They are supposed to fail and come back stronger. But for him to just completely give it up without a fight - it’s unforgivable."
