Former cruiserweight world champions, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (53-4-1, 37 KO) and Krzysztof Glowacki (28-1, 18 KO) are getting ready for action in the coming months.

A few weeks ago, Wlodarczyk was knocked out by Murat Gassiev in the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Super Series tournament. Glowacki is supposed to be a substitute for the WBSS semi-final fight, Oleksandr Usyk vs. Marius Briedis, taking place on January 27 in Riga. Because he's an alternate for the tournament, his trainer expects him to see action on the card.

The former WBO champion staff is waiting for the official confirmation of this information, but he is not staying idle.

Since losing a decision to Usyk in September of last year, Glowacki has picked up two victories in a row with a pair of fifth round TKO wins over Hizni Altunkaya (29-0) and Leonardo Damian Bruzzese (18-3).

Their mutual trainer, Fiodor Lapin, provided an update on both Polish fighters.

The loss to Gassiev snapped a four fight win streak for Wlodarczyk. It was also the first time he had been beaten by knockout. His other defeats all came by way of decision.

Al 36 years old, the boxer has no plans to retire from the sport and plots his next fight.

"Krzysztof was disappointed [by the loss to Gassive], but he does not intend to finish his career," said Fiodor Lapin.

"Wlodarczyk is not going to finish his career yet. On the contrary, he's burning to return to the ring. We expect that the next fight for him will take place in February or March.

"As for Glowacki, although we have no confirmation yet and there is still no word regarding the fights of the Usyk vs Briedis event, it is logical for us that Krzysiek will perform on that card. We are training and waiting for confirmation. Next week we will start sparring."
