Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez (34-0) will return to the ring for the first time in 12 months when he faces Max Bursak (33-4-1) at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.  The fight, which will be in support of the Oscar Valdez-Miguel Marriaga main event, will be distributed byTop Rank on pay-per-view.  The televised pay-per-view portion of the card will be rounded out by Jessie Magdaleno's first defense of his WBO super bantamweight title against Adeilson Dos Santos and the debut of 2016 American silver medalist Shakur Stevenson who will face Edgar Brito.

Ramirez captured the WBO super middleweight title last April when he routed Arthur Abraham on the undercard of the rubber match between Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley in Las Vegas. He was scheduled to defend his title for the first in July on the Terence Crawford-Viktor Postol undercard but jthe bout was scrapped when Zurdo had to undergo surgery on his right hand.

Saturday's bout will be his first since the surgery and his trainer Hector Zapari said that he is fully healed and in tremendous shape.

"Zurdo had a great training camp like he always does.  After the surgery he was inactive for about three months but he hasn't stopped training since he was fully recuperated," said Zapari.

"He completed many physical conditioning sessions and swam in the open sea to help stay in shape.  He also worked very hard in our gym in Mazatlan, Mexico, where he worked on his boxing.  He never stopped training and then we finished up here in Los Angeles where we did a total of ten weeks of training. That training included good long runs in the mountains and great sparring with top notch competition.  Every camp he learns more and more. What surprises me the most is that every camp he also matures not only as a boxer but as a person too."

When a fighter is inactive for such a long period of time there is always a concern that the fighter will be out of rhythm when they finally return to the ring.  Zapari doesn't believe that will be the case with the 25-year-oldfighter because of the fact that he is a gym rat and always stays in good shape.

"Look, whenever a fighter is inactive there is a chance that they will have like you say, ring rust, but I don't think that is the case with Zurdo. He is a fighter that was always very active before the surgery and he is very mature for his age and has been working very hard since the surgery.  He is very focused for this fight and I think you will see that Saturday night," Zapari told BoxingScene.com.
