LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The super middleweight world champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Mexico's Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez, is ready to make the fifth defense of his title against Jesse 'Hard Work' Hart in a rematch.

Ramírez and Hart will collide for the second time this Friday, December 14, at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas - and headlines a card promoted by Top Rank in association with Zápari Boxing Promotions.

"The Zurdo goes with everything, made a great preparation and reached the level we wanted since we started working on this fight. It only remains to wait until Friday so that people can see him in his best version," said his coach Hector 'El Negro' Zápari.

This weekend, the pupil of Mazatleco promoter Jesús Zápari closed his camp, as did his teammates Rubén Vega and Jesús Aréchiga, who are also part of the boxing card on December 14.

"Having the boys in the camp was motivating for 'Zurdo', also that we incorporated my brother Luis Zápari and a nutritionist. The team keeps growing and that was a move that came about to revitalize the work environment. We are all very happy," explained Héctor Zápari.

The first confrontation between Gilberto Ramírez and Jesse Hart, which took place on September 22, 2017, was a war that culminated in a unanimous decision in favor of the Mexican boxer. Fourteen months later they will cross shrapnel again, in what promises to be a heated fight.
