Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez is gearing up for the biggest fight of his pro career.

The former WBO super middleweight champion will attempt to become a two-division beltholder on November 5th in Abu Dhabi.

In what is a mandatory fight, Ramirez will challenge WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

Ramirez, undefeated in 44 fights, has won all five his bouts at 175-pounds by knockout.

Bivol, also undefeated, is coming off one of the biggest stunners of 2022.

Back in May, he retained his world title by outboxing Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez over twelve rounds in Las Vegas.

Ramirez also saw action in the month of May, when he knocked out Dominic Boesel in a WBA final eliminator.

The Mexican boxer has been chasing a world title fight at 175 for some time - and now the moment is almost upon him.

While Bivol is favored to win, there are many who view Ramirez as being a more dangerous opponent for him than Canelo, who was moving up from 168 and began his career at welterweight.

Ramirez views Bivol as a big challenge, but not his biggest challenge.

“I think it’s not the biggest [challenge of my career]. I’ve been fighting for a long time with the top fighters, but at the end of the day it’s a good challenge.  It’s what I want. I want the belt. It’s great for me and it’s great for boxing to have this top fight and for people to be looking forward to it," Ramirez told The National.

“Bivol’s a really good challenge. And I like it because I’m a man of the challenge. I’m looking forward to getting the title, become a two-time world champion. And I will get it. That’s for sure.

“[A win over Bivol] means everything for me, because it proves I can do it for myself. That’s the challenge I’ve been looking for my whole life, that I can do anything what I think, everything what I dream, and make it happen."
