Gervonta Davis made weight without issue Friday for a third straight title fight.

The undefeated Davis, motivated by his hometown title defense, stepped on the Maryland State Athletic Commission’s scale at 129½ pounds for his 12-round, 130-pound title fight with Ricardo Nunez. Panama’s Nunez came in slightly lighter than Davis, at 128¾ pounds.

“It was definitely easy,” Davis told Showtime’s Steve Farhood after the weigh-in at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore. “Just training back home amongst my brothers, I knew I had a big task in front of me. I’m in front of my family and friends and things like that, so I was on top of my game this go-around.”

They’ll fight for Davis’ WBA “super” world super featherweight title Saturday night in a main event Showtime will televise from Royal Farms Arena. Showtime’s three-bout broadcast is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

The 24-year-old Davis (21-0, 20 KOs) is listed as at least a 50-1 favorite versus the 25-year-old Nunez (21-2, 19 KOs) by most Internet sports books. Davis, a powerful southpaw, will make the second defense of a piece of the WBA’s 130-pound championship.

Panama’s Nunez has won 10 straight fights, nine by knockout, since Barnie Arguelles knocked him out in the second round of their January 2015 fight in Panama City. Nunez quickly avenged his loss to Arguelles (10-9, 8 KOs), whom he stopped in the second round six months later in Panama City.

Three of the first four fighters Showtime will feature Saturday night also made weight Friday.

Yuriorkis Gamboa (29-2, 17 KOs), a three-division champion from Cuba, was slightly overweight, as he stepped on the scale at 134½ pounds for his 10-round lightweight fight against Roman “Rocky” Martinez (30-3-3, 18 KOs). Puerto Rico’s Martinez, a former WBO 130-pound champ, officially weighed 133½ pounds.

The contracted weight limit for the Gamboa-Martinez match is 134 pounds, one below the lightweight limit of 135. The Maryland commission granted Gamboa more time to come back to the scale at 134 pounds or lower.

“I have another hour to go,” Gamboa told Farhood through a translator, “so I’ll definitely lose that half a pound.”

Martinez criticized Gamboa for failing to come in on weight, but Martinez was expected to move forward with their fight even if Gamboa doesn’t shed half a pound.

Earlier Friday afternoon, Panama’s Jezreel Corrales (23-2, 9 KOs, 1 NC), a former WBA 130-pound champ, weighed in at 134¼ pounds for his 10-round lightweight bout with Ladarius Miller. Memphis’ Miller (19-1, 6 KOs) stepped on the scale at 135½ pounds.

The contracted maximum for the Corrales-Miller match is 136 pounds.
