Pioneer Event Center, Lancaster, California - In a battle of big 6'6 heavyweights, Gerald Washington (19-2-1, 12 KOs) got back on track with a ten round unanimous decision over a game Wes Nofire (20-2, 16 KOs). The scores were 98-91, 97-92, 97-92.

Coming in, Nofire had bounced back from his first career defeat after getting stopped by Joey Abell in three rounds back May of 2016.

Washington suffered back to back stoppage defeats after getting put away by Deontay Wilder in five rounds in February 2017, and then a few months later in July, he was stopped in eight rounds by Jarrell Miller.

Washington came out firing a lot of big shots from the very first round and placed a lot of pressure on Nofire. Things slowed down in the second round, with Washington still having the clear edge.

In the third round, Nofire buzzed Washington from a series of hard shots.  Washington recovered and started tagging Nofire with big shots. Nofire appeared to be winded by the fourth round, as Washington was controlling the fight.

Washington controlled the fifth, but it was Nofire who came out landing solid shots in the sixth. During the seventh round, Nofire lost a point for excessive holding in the contest. But when the action restarted, Nofire was landing short punches on the inside. Noire once again looked very tired in the eight, but the workrate of both was very even.

After a lackluster ninth, Washington came out swinging at the start of the tenth and rocked Nofire. They were trading punches, with Nofire landing the bigger shots and doing more damage. Nofire was so tired in the final minute that he was barely able to stand and was hanging on for dear life.

Hot junior middleweight prospect Joey Spencer (3-0, 3 KOs) demolished Tom Howard (8-7) in the first round.

A big right right hand sent Howard crashing. It didn't take long before Howard went down for a second time and the contest was waved off.

Spencer made his pro debut in February with a second round knockout on the Danny Garcia vs. Brandon Rios undercard in Las Vegas. He came back in April with a first round knockout.

Michael Hunter (14-1, 9 KOs) trimmed off some more weight in his heavyweight run, as he picked up an impressive fifth round stoppage victory over Iago Kiladze (26-3, 18 KOs).

Kiladze was coming back from a fifth round knockout loss to Adam Kownacki in January of this year at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
