Former two-time heavyweight champion George Foreman is backing Tyson Fury to defeat Anthony Joshua in their full division unification.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Joshua and Fury had both signed their respective portions of a two-fight agreement.

The two sides are now working to finalize a date and site.

Foreman, 72-years-old and the oldest man to ever win the heavyweight crown, believes Fury will have too much for the younger Joshua to handle.

"That boy Tyson Fury, you're going to have to bring everything you've got to beat him. And I'm going to be honest with you, I just cannot see Joshua beating him. But I sure would buy some tickets to see what would happen, I'm that curious about it," Foreman told IFL TV.

"But that Tyson Fury man, woooh, Fury - I mean, how did he get the name?"

Fury has been out of the ring since February of 2020, when he stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch to capture the WBC title.

After suffering his first career loss, Wilder made several sensational claims regarding the reasons behind the outcome - including his ring-walk costume being heavy, Fury loading his gloves with weights, and accusing former assistant trainer Mark Breland of possibly spiking the water bottle.

Foreman found himself in the same position, making sensational claims of his own, when he lost to the great Muhammad Ali.

"When I lost to Muhammad Ali in Africa all those years back, the ropes were loose, someone put something in my water, it was too early in the morning - oh, the excuses went on," Foreman said.

"You've got to have excuses when you lose, especially when you're undefeated. You can't just say, 'I lost'. You can't say that. And that's gravity, that's putting yourself solidly down to make an excellent comeback."
