Ged Carroll is determined to challenge for a title this year as he looks to go from strength to strength in his professional career.

Carroll (9-0) fights at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on March 30, and he feels 2019 is the time for him to step up.

Carroll said: “I’m hoping to get a title this year definitely. I’ve done my apprenticeship and it’s about kicking on in 2019.

“At lightweight I feel there are more than enough titles to get my hands on. The lightweight division is great and there are some really good fighters out there.

“As an amateur I boxed everyone and anyone, and I’m looking to continue that in the professional game. It was all about getting a few learning fights and then taking any opportunity.

“I’m made up to be back in Liverpool on a stacked card on March 30, and hopefully this will be the platform for a really big year for myself.

“I ended the year with a good win and now I’m starting it on a big show. Liverpool boxing has gone through the roof over the last few years and the city is really booming.”

Along with Carroll, a number of his MTK stablemates are also on the card in Liverpool in March, including Liam Smith, David Price and Natasha Jonas.
