ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – The Showtime tripleheader scheduled for February 26 was officially announced during the network’s three-bout broadcast Saturday night.

The main event, first reported by BoxingScene.com last week, will match WBC world super featherweight champion Roger Gutierrez against his number one challenger, Chris Colbert, in a 12-round, 130-pound championship match.

In the 10-round co-feature, junior welterweight prospect Gary Antuanne Russell (14-0, 14 KOs) will face former WBC 140-pound champion Viktor Postol (31-3, 12 KOs). Ukraine’s Postol represents a step up in class for Gary Antuanne Russell, a 2016 U.S. Olympian from Capitol Heights, Maryland.

The opener of this tripleheader will feature IBF junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas (33-1-2, 22 KOs), a Filipino southpaw who will make a mandated defense of his 115-pound championship against Argentina’s Fernando Daniel Martinez (13-0, 8 KOs).

The site for this tripleheader is expected to be The Chelsea, a venue inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Showtime didn’t announce the site of its February 26 telecast during a broadcast that was set to feature WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr. (31-1, 18 KOs) and mandatory challenger Mark Magsayo (23-0, 16 KOs) in the main event from Borgata Event Center.

Venezuela’s Gutierrez will make the second defense of a WBA belt he won from Rene Alvarado, who first lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Gutierrez a year ago at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Gutierrez (26-3-1, 20 KOs) beat Nicaragua’s Alvarado (32-11, 21 KOs) by unanimous decision again in their 12-round rematch August 14 at Ford Center at the Star, the Dallas Cowboys’ training facility in Frisco, Texas.

Brooklyn’s Colbert (16-0, 6 KOs) held the WBA’s interim 130-pound championship until that besmirched sanctioning organization eliminated its interim championships late in August in the aftermath of the Gabriel Maestre-Mykal Fox scandal.
