"El Ciclon de Guantanamo" Yuriorkis Gamboa (24-1, 17KOs) is ready to get his career back in order, starting with his return on Saturday night against Hylon Williams Jr. (16-1) at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. The fight will air via same-evening tape delay on HBO Latino (Saturday, 12:15 a.m. ET approximate start time).

Last year he suffered his first defeat when he was knocked out by then WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford. He returned in November of the same year with a win over Joel Montes de Oca in Mexico.

Due to a promotional dispute, Gamboa has been inactive for over a year. He wants to stay very busy in the coming year.

The Olympic gold medal winner recently returned to Cuba to reclaim the tools that made him one of the best up and coming fighters several years ago.

"Many will not understand, but I wanted to go back to the Cuban school of boxing. I wanted to recover the explosive power, concentration and foundation which made me a world champion. I spent a month [over there], every day I was returning to my best times. Nothing else mattered. Boxing was the center of attention. I was in the best mental state," Gamboa told George Ebro.

While Gamboa is a big favorite to win his fight, he is not overlooking the ability of Williams.

"He's a good fighter, I respect him. But this is only the beginning of my return. No one more than me is aware of the fact that I have my moment and I have no time to lose. I'm already going to be back in the ring in February or March and from that moment there will only be the best fight and best moments. I will climb back to the top," Gamboa said.
