Top Rank became the first US based promotional company to return to action with fights headlined by Shakur Stevenson and Jessie Magdaleno on June 9th and 11th. Both fights were broadcast by ESPN from the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas without fans in attendance.

Next week Top Rank and ESPN returns with 3 cards topped by Emanuel Navarrete, Gabriel Flores Jr. and Joshua Greer.

Flores (17-0) last fought on February 22nd on the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder undercard.  While he is happy to have the quick turn around to the ring, he recently revealed that there were bigger plans for his next fight before the covid-19 pandemic hit.

The 20-year-old is a big draw in his hometown of Stockton, California and he packed over 10,000 fans in the Stockton Arena in May of last year.

"We had a fight planned at Stockton Arena for the 4th of July before all of this covid-19 stuff started happening so we couldn't make that happen. That just tells you that we are already planning to go back to Stockton. That is my city and I love it and I always stay true to it. The turnout was great, spectacular. I can't wait for the next one. Who knows when it will be but everyone is waiting for it," Flores told BoxingScene.com.

Regardless of where his next fight takes place, Flores plans on keeping up his busy pace.  Assuming everything goes well against Josec Ruiz (21-2-3), he hopes to return to the ring before the end of the summer.

"I will probably fight again in August. We are not playing. Like I said once I get the momentum going it only gets better," Flores stated.

As for what he plans on showing in the ring, Flores said that fans can expect to see more improvement as he continues to progress from prospect to contender status.

"They are going to see Gabriel Flores getting better and better, letting his hands go repeatedly, putting together combinations and combinations. Showing a great ring IQ. The best of both worlds," said Flores.
