Earlier this summer lightweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr. (19-0) announced the addition of Andre Ward to his team.  The former pound-for-pound champion now serves as one of the 20-year-old's advisors. The move was made shortly after Flores' dominant unanimous decision win over Josec Ruiz on June 18th.

Flores returns to the ring Saturday night when he faces Ryan Kielczweski (30-4) at "The Bubble" inside of the MGM Grand Garden Hotel and Casino.  His bout will serve as the co-feature underneath the Jose Zepeda-Ivan Baranchyk main event. The entire card will stream live on ESPN+.

Ward's impact on Flores should be seen immediately as the current ESPN analyst spent some time with his fighter during the Northern California portion of his training camp.

"This training camp was a little longer. We began training camp in Stockton (California) with Andre Ward. That was a big plus and something that was definitely different. He gave me a few pointers that stuck with me that I feel like are going to make me look good and are going to be really effective in this fight," Flores told BoxingScene.com.

Stockton's Flores is still developing as a fighter, having turned pro at 16-years-old.  Even though he is about to enter the ring for the 19th time as a pro, time is still on his side.

At this point in his career, development is the most important element in his career.  Flores said that he hopes to build off of his win over Ruiz and continue to show new wrinkles in his game.

"Each performance gets better and better so I am definitely looking to top my last performance and to keep showing improvement," Flores stated.

With a victory Flores will improve to 3-0 on the year.  He kicked off his 2020 campaign with a unanimous decision victory over Matt Conway.
