Junior middleweight/middleweight contender Gabe Rosado (21-9, 13KOs) has not won a boxing match since 2012.

Rosado has been facing the elite of the middleweight and junior middleweight ranks, with his last five fights coming against David Lemieux, Jermell Charlo, Peter Quillin, J'Leon Love and Gennady Golovkin.

On December 19th, Rosado will return to the ring as part of an HBO televised card from the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

His opponent on the card is former world champion Joshua Clottey (39-4, 22KOs), who last tasted defeat when he faced Manny Pacquiao in 2010.

The crossroads fight is a big opportunity for both boxers to get back in the mix.

Rosado is making several changes in preparation for this fight. The biggest change comes in the form of being trained by former world champion Fernando Vargas, who runs a growing gym in the Las Vegas area.

Vargas, who held the WBA and IBF junior middleweight titles, retired in 2007 after suffering a close points loss to Ricardo Mayorga. For the last few years he's been training young fighters, prospects and now he's taking his first step in showcasing his coaching skills with a seasoned pro.
