Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, says the negotiations are already underway for a mandatory defense against Dillian Whyte.

The two sides are in talks for an all-British showdown in the UK, with dates in February and March being targeted.

The World Boxing Council recently ordered the two boxers to face each other in a title fight.

Fury was last seen in the ring back in October, when he overcame two knockdowns to score a sensational knockout of Deontay Wilder in the eleventh round of their trilogy fight.

Now the goal is for Fury to headline a big venue in the UK - after fighting exclusively in the United States since late 2018.

"Tyson Fury has been ordered to enter negotiations with Dillian Whyte for a defense of his WBC heavyweight title. And that’s exactly what we are doing now - discussing what could be the perfect homecoming for the Gypsy King. Tyson has no fear of taking on any challenger so once the decision was made by the WBC we were ready for it," Warren told Daily Star.

"He has already beaten the most dangerous puncher in the division twice - three times if you count the first fight he was robbed of a win in - so why would anyone pose a threat to him? Whyte will get his chance once we come to an agreement on a deal and he will get to see what elite level heavyweight boxing is.

"And I would love to put it on in the UK in February or March. It will be nearly four years since Tyson has fought on these shores after he has gone over and conquered America. The decision on where it ends up will come down to a number of factors, though. So it now looks like it will be Whyte next for the Gypsy King and then we will move onto the undisputed showdown in the summer against Oleksandr Usyk or Anthony Joshua. These are exciting times for the heavyweight division."
