Frank Warren, co-promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is pressing to get a date set down for the unification with IBF, WBO, IBO, WBA champion Anthony Joshua.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that both boxers had signed their respective portions of a two-fight agreement.

Joshua was in action back in December, when he knocked out mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev in nine rounds.

On the other side, Fury has been away for over a year - with his last fight taking place in February 2020 when he stopped Deontay Wilder in seven rounds to capture the WBC title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Both sides are currently working hard to finalize a date and location.

The two parties are hoping to get a date in June or July at the latest - but they need a location to offer up enough money to host the fight. And the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is also creating some venue issues - because restrictions are changing on a weekly basis around the world.

The handlers for Fury and Joshua have less than 30 days to secure a location - or else the fight agreement will fall apart.

Because of the inactivity factor, Warren is obviously concerned if the process drags out to finalize a date and venue.

"Everybody is working to get it away in June or July, that's what we're working towards. That's what we want to do. The longer it takes to happen, it's not gonna be good for Tyson. You've been out the ring now 13 months, coming up to 14 months," Warren told BT Sport.

"So he'll want to be fighting. And we want to get it on ASAP."
