WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is willing to put his money where his mouth is - by putting up a bet of $1 million that Deontay Wilder will knock Anthony Joshua out - if the two former beltholders ever collide.

Fury has face Wilder on three occasions. They went to a draw in the first encounter, with Fury getting knockout wins in the next two fights. Fury also knows a lot about Wilder's power, as he went down a total of four times in their trilogy series.

Wilder's co-manager Shelly Finkel, and Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn, have both expressed interest in coming together to make a deal for a 2023 showdown.

Finkel would like the fight to happen next, while Hearn is looking at other opponents for Joshua, who lost his last two bouts at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury does not believe Joshua is actually willing to step in the ring with Wilder.

"I'd like to see that fight but I don't think AJ has got the minerals to take that fight. That's it, I just don't think he will fight anyone that will knock him out. I just don't, that is my personal opinion," Fury told Behind The Gloves.

"Wilder will definitely knock out Joshua. I'd even have a bet on it. I'd have one million quid on it with anybody. £1million, even money, Wilder knocks Joshua out cold."

Wilder and Joshua have been unable to make a fight for several years.

Finkel does not want Joshua to take any interim fights. He wants to make a Wilder-Joshua deal right now.

“If Joshua is ready or willing to fight us next, that is what we want and we will give anything to fight him.  This has been a five-year campaign and each time they always try to say we have avoided it," Finkel said to The Sun. “We’re saying why not fight next? Let’s just make the fight."
