John Fury, father of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has taken a few swings at Anthony Joshua, who last month suffered a twelve round unanimous decision loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

The defeat derailed any possibility of Fury facing Joshua in the first half of 2022.

Instead, Joshua will face Usyk in a rematch for the IBF, IBO, WBO, WBA heavyweight titles in the first quarter of the upcoming year.

Fury's next bout is unknown - but it's possible that he faces the winner of the upcoming clash between Dillian Whyte and Otto Wallin, which takes place on October 30.

The elder Fury felt Joshua never showed any sense of urgency and appeared content with suffering a loss - because he knew a immediate rematch clause was in the contract.

"You've only got to look at Joshua's body language after the fight, his behavior on the stool. His behavior, warriors don't behave like that,” John Fury told the True Geordie podcast.

"If you look at Tyson and you look at Deontay Wilder - Deontay Wilder [never] dipped his head much to say I've given me all I can't do anymore, he was just all out.

"He wasn't making any emotions like he was discomforted, he wasn't trying to do anything but soak it all in. Deontay Wilder fought his heart out, he had nothing left at all. I think he was teetering on being conscious when he was sat on his stool.

“AJ didn't do anything wrong, you can only do what you can do in boxing. He just hasn't got the desire or the will - not a quarter of it of these other two men, Wilder or my son. Honestly he's been a good champion, but does he ever beat these other two men. Definitely not, because he's not a one punch knockout artist like Wilder either."
