A crossroads battle of former champions is taking place on July 25th at Polideportivo Centenario in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.

Former WBO minimumweight and interim-junior flyweight champion Moises Fuentes (21-2-1, 11KOs) will face former WBC miniumweight champion Oswaldo Novoa (14-5-2, 9KOs).

Fuentes was going very strong in recent years, when he knocked out Puerto Rico's Ivan Calderon in five rounds in 2012 and fought to a close draw with WBO junior flyweight champion Donnie Nietes in 2013. Last year, Fuentes suffered suffered a dramatic ninth round TKO defeat to Nietes in their rematch. He's won two fights since.

Novoa had a wild 2014. He went to China last February and stunned Xiong Chao Zhong for the WBC belt. He then made a defend of the title in June. But then lost his title in November when he went to Thailand and was stopped in nine rounds by Wanheng Menayothin. He returned in February and had a lackluster ten round draw with Mario Andrade.
